Public Facility

These areas include public parks, reservoirs, golf courses, cemetery, trail corridors and land preservation areas.  The City shares some park and open space recreation areas with schools to maximize use of the open space facilities for students and surrounding neighborhoods.  Sites along the mountain bench (such as the Fernwood Trailhead area) interface with the National Forest Service and provide access to public lands.  Open space corridors are intended to expand along the City’s planned trail system, particularly along natural drainages and other natural areas, and power corridors.  Where feasible, parks and open space areas may support stormwater detention for surrounding development.
